CoP Meeting | 3rd November 2023

What another amazing Community of Practise we had on Friday! Hosted by the team at Peibri Place, we were set amongst Newcastle’s marina, overlooking the water, accompanied by great company and discussions. We would first like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the meeting. Our community is continuously growing with positive and like minded individuals and services whose passion lies within actively supporting the community.

Our meeting kickstarted with a half hour of connecting and introducing one another before we took a seat for a very special line up of guest speakers.

“The COP is Integrity4Life's opportunity to give back and support other organisations and professionals in the sector; It's a privilege to be a part of it. I am humbled by the fact that professionals commit their knowledge, time and energy to the support of each other. The focus continues to be improving outcomes for our participants by improving our knowledge and how we operate in the space. Thanks for your support!”

Insights into ARFID with Nourished Not Deprived

At last, we heard from Bronte, Managing Director & Lead Dietitian of Nourished Not Deprived. Bronte delved into ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), offering a comprehensive understanding of this eating disorder. She detailed the condition, its prevalence among NDIS participants, and diagnostic screening protocols. Bronte's engaging presentation brought about enlightening moments for providers, shedding light on potential causes behind participants' selective eating habits.

In true Community of Practise spirit, we concluded the meeting by throwing the floor to our service providers for discussion. Creating a safe space for our service providers, enables us to establish a trustworthy and loyal community in which everyone feels comfortable and heard. This interaction isn't just about one-way sharing—it's a multifaceted engagement. Amongst shared discussions a mutual respect among the members encourage our commitment to continual growth, improvement, and support within our community.

Thank you all who attended. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
